Austin based entertainment studio options book
Austin, Texas – July 27th 2022 – Caster Studios has acquired an exclusive option for film and television rights to Anthony R. Carrozza’s book, “Dukes of Duval County – The Parr Family and Texas Politics.” In this comprehensive study of the Parr family’s political activities, Carrozza reveals the innermost workings of the Parr dynasty, a political machine that drove South Texas politics for more than seventy years and critically influenced the course of the nation.
“The scope of this story — in the number of decades it covers and strong themes of corrupt power — presents an exciting opportunity to showcase a part of Texas history not previously explored in a way that’s fun and thrilling for viewers,” said Dallas Morgan, one of Caster Studio’s Executive Producers.
Caster Studios will begin developing and packaging the project with plans to structure it as a multi-season limited series.
“Anyone looking for information on the Parr family’s influence on south Texas need look no further than this tidy, single volume. The book is well written and well researched, and offers a vivid window into local politics in south Texas.” says book reviewer, Sean Cunninham from Lubbock, Texas.
Nick Caster, founder and creative director of Caster Studios, said, “Part of our mission as a company is to find and tell extraordinary stories that entertain a wide audience. So I’m pumped to have this project as part of our development slate, and can’t wait to collaborate with top talent in front of and behind the camera to bring The Dukes of Duval to life.”
